A story of cotton, craftsmanship, and the long road home.

There’s something deeply gratifying about closing a loop—about bringing things back to where they began. In an industry known for its tangled, global supply chains and wasteful cycles, completing that circle feels almost radical.

At Save Khaki United, it’s not just a milestone—it’s a return to what matters. A homecoming.

For years, we’ve carried a quiet but persistent vision: to make a T-shirt that’s not only American in spirit but truly American in every thread and touch. Not just cut and sewn here—but grown, spun, knit, dyed, and crafted entirely on U.S. soil. A piece made with care, transparency, and a personal connection to every step of its creation.

And now, after years of dedication and hands-on effort, that vision is real.

Our Supima cotton tee—a longtime favorite—is now grown, spun, knit, cut & sewn, and dyed entirely in USA. Every fiber starts in American soil and never leaves it. This is more than a product—it’s a full-circle expression of values.

Why We Make Things Local

We’ve always been a small, analogue-minded brand. Our approach to making clothes has never been about scale—it’s about substance.

We’ve made a conscious decision to dedicate ourselves to local production, not because it’s trendy, but because it’s logical—especially for a brand that cares deeply about craft, process, and community.

There’s a kind of trust that comes only from being there. I feel better when I can meet the people who make our garments. When I can stand beside the machines. When I can work hand-in-hand with producers, discussing fabric weights, sewing details, dye formulas—all in real time, face-to-face. That’s the way we’ve always developed our products, and the way we plan to keep doing it.

This way of working keeps us grounded. It brings integrity into every decision. And it makes every garment feel that much more personal.

Why Supima?

We chose Supima cotton because it’s the finest cotton in the world—and it’s grown right here in the U.S. Its long-staple fibers create a softer, smoother hand, resist pilling, and absorb dye in a way that gives our tees rich, lasting color.

But it’s not just about how it feels. It’s about accountability.

Supima offers full traceability—we know exactly where and how the cotton is grown, who is growing it, the farming practices in place, the ginning process, and even the environmental impact. That kind of transparency means everything to us. It tells us we’re working with people—not just materials—and with a land that’s being respected, not exploited.

What About Sustainability?

People often ask us about sustainability in cotton farming—especially with a fiber so widely used. It’s a fair question.

We work closely with Supima farmers because they’re not only stewards of the land—they’re deeply technology-minded, using advanced tools to monitor water usage, soil health, and crop efficiency. Many of them are multigenerational farmers who understand that their livelihood depends on the long-term health of the land.

They’ve told us, time and again, that no one is more invested in the environment than they are. And when your fields are your future, that commitment isn’t optional—it’s instinctive.

In California, where our cotton is grown, the standards for environmental regulation are among the highest in the world. That gives us an unmatched level of transparency and accountability—from irrigation practices to crop rotation to carbon impact. It’s not just about compliance. It’s about care.

What Circularity Means to Us

Circularity is the belief that a product’s life shouldn’t end in a landfill. It’s the commitment to reduce waste, reuse resources, and design with intention—from start to finish. It’s thoughtful material choices, shorter supply chains, and transparency in every step.

For years, we had to watch our American-grown cotton get shipped overseas just to be spun—only to return to Los Angeles for knitting, dyeing, and sewing. That long loop consumed time, burned fuel, and created unnecessary complexity.

But no longer.

Now, with every stage happening right here in California, we’ve shortened our production chain, dramatically reduced our carbon footprint, and strengthened the connection between the people who make and the people who wear. And with 100% Supima cotton, our tees are not just beautifully made—they’re 100% biodegradable.

This is what circularity looks like. This is how clothing should be made.

A Step Forward, and a Look Back

This T-shirt is more than a garment—it’s a symbol of where we’re going, and where we’ve always belonged. It’s for those who care about how their clothes are made. For those who believe sustainability isn’t a marketing angle—it’s a responsibility.

As someone who’s spent a lifetime immersed in textiles, color, and the quiet joy of well-made things, I can tell you: this isn’t just a tee. It’s a story of patience, process, and people. A long road that has finally, beautifully, come full circle.

Today, we’re proud to say our Supima Tees and Supima Sweatshirts are now part of our 100% Made in USA collection.

Thank you for walking that road with us—and for wearing what it means.

With care,

David Mullen
