Our collaboration with Port Canvas last year was truly something special. We fell in love with the connection we created, and it quickly became a relationship we wanted to build on. So when Scott, the former owner of Port Canvas, approached David with the idea of taking over this beloved legacy brand, it felt like the perfect next step. David's deep passion for local manufacturing made it an easy decision. He couldn't wait to carry forward the tradition of crafting beautiful and practical bags in the charming town of Kennebunkport, Maine.
This season, we're thrilled to introduce you to a fresh take on classic styles. We've redesigned the duffle and tote bags with inspirations drawn from camp, travel, and just a touch of military influence. Each bag is stone-washed to give it a modern vintage feel that we know you'll love. These bags are crafted to last, with every stitch hand-sewn by artisans who pour their heart into their work. They’re not just bags—they're companions designed to be by your side for years to come.
The Port Canvas Studio in Maine.
Step inside the Port Canvas Studio, and you'll see the care and attention to detail that goes into every tote we make. The studio is filled with sewing machines, metal trim assemblers, paper and block patterns from heritage bags, a proprietary grosgrain tape cutter, and even a 40-year-old embroidery machine that runs on a closed DOS system using floppy disks. Each bag involves 20 to 40 steps in the making, and we often craft our orders on demand. It might take a bit of time, but every bag is proudly signed by the artisan, guaranteeing the quality you’ve come to expect.
We hope you'll enjoy the quality and artistry of these timeless pieces, each one a testament to a tried and true tradition.
