DON'T MAKE SOMETHING UNLESS IT IS BOTH NECESSARY AND USEFUL; BUT IF IT IS BOTH NECESSARY AND USEFUL, DON'T HESITATE TO MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL.
-SHAKER PHILOSOPHY
With a growing number of Americans working from home, Home Work was created to offer clothing that is both comfortable and functional. A modern take on workwear for your home and designed with thoughtful details like elasticized waistlines, utility pockets and relaxed fits, this unisex line was designed for its wearer to be at ease while working hard.
Home Work was also born out of a similar concept as the "farm-to-table" movement, with a strong desire to help create change around what we wear and where it comes from. The collection is truly a "farm-to-closet" manufacturing endeavor in which every component is made here at home (in the U.S.), including fabric, threads, buttons and trims.
Inspired by shaker furniture where nothing is added without purpose, our goal is to create purposeful workwear for the modern wearer. The Shaker philosophy is, "don't make something unless it is both necessary and useful; but if it is both necessary and useful, don't hesitate to make it beautiful." Rooted in sustainability, Home Work is better for the ecosystem with conscious manufacturing, using high-quality materials and simple thoughtful designs that are built to last over time
Although a labor-intensive process, as U.S. automation and technology hasn't drastically changed, Home Work is committed to its core endeavors; even partnering with a cotton mill in Pennsylvania to help maintain its operations. The collection proudly use American grown, spun and woven fabrics, antique shuttle looms and denim from historic Mt. Vernon Mills, which has made work textiles since 1847.
